Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management solutions, has released Malware Evolution: January - March 2007, the company’s latest report on information security threats covering the first quarter of 2007.
The report provides an overview of significant virus outbreaks, an analysis of current trends in the malware world, and predicts how malicious programs will evolve.
Malware Evolution: January - March 2007 also details how organized groups of cyber criminals are competing with one another, conducting DDoS attacks on each other's servers and using other methods to gain an advantage in what is becoming a fierce cyber war.
However, Kaspersky Lab analysts believe that the release of Vista will have the greatest influence on information security in 2007. Vista has been positioned by Microsoft's as its most secure operating system ever, created with a number of innovations designed to enhance system security. The report examines these security features in more detail and assesses what level of protection they actually offer.
