Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management solutions, announces that respected Russian IT magazine Hard’n’Soft has named Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 its “Product of the Year”.

The best solution in the antivirus category was decided by an online poll. Votes were cast between September 24 and October 31, 2008 on the magazine’s official web site www.hardnsoft.ru. Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 proved most popular among Hard’n’Soft’s readers and was named “Product of the Year”, surpassing the products from vendors such as ESET, Dr.Web, Avira, Symantec, McAfee and TrendMicro.

The experts at Hard'n'Soft were in agreement with the readers’ choice. In particular, they stressed the effectiveness of the Host-based Intrusion-Prevention System (HIPS), the application activity filtration and network monitoring modules, as well as the wide range of options for treating infections and Kaspersky Internet Security’s low use of system resources.

Hard'n'Soft also singled out Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 for its “Editor’s Choice” award in October of last year.
