Kaspersky Lab, a leading information security software developer announces the start of beta testing for Kaspersky® Anti-Virus for Linux Mail Server 5.6 and invites all interested parties to participate in the beta testing of this product.
Kaspersky® Anti-Virus for Linux Mail Server 5.6 provides full-scale protection for mail traffic and file servers operating under Linux or FreeBSD based on Sendmail, Postfix, qmail or Exim e-mail systems from all types of malicious programs.
This application checks file systems and incoming and outgoing mail traffic for all types of malicious code, and provides detection of infected, suspicious, and password-protected files. All threats found in files and mail messages are neutralized.
Kaspersky® Anti-Virus for Linux Mail Server 5.6 combines the functionality of Kaspersky® Anti-Virus for Linux Mail Server 5.5 and Kaspersky® Anti-Virus for Sendmail with Milter API 5.6. It also contains many improvements.
One of the most important of them is extended scanning configuration options. Now two types of scans are available which offer different levels of protection. The new application includes the command line administration tool.
The upgraded application can be configured to filter mail traffic not only by attachment name and file type, but also by size.
In addition, this new version is capable of making backup copies and processing email messages according to the rules set up for each group of mail system users. It also provides support for generating statistics and reports.
The Antivirus database can be updated on demand or according to a predefined schedule. Kaspersky® Anti-Virus for Linux Mail Server 5.6 can be managed remotely either via a web interface or using Webmin.
