Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management solutions, announces the results of the second meeting of the company’s Board of Directors that took place on December 4-5, 2007. The Board has decided to reorganize the international structure of the company and to create five regional offices that will manage the activities of local representative offices and partner companies in the respective regions. Andreas Lamm, formerly the director of Kaspersky Lab Germany, has been named Managing Director for Western Europe. Garry Kondakov, who was named Managing Director for Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, was previously Director for Russia, the CIS and the Baltic countries. Steve Orenberg, formerly the President of Kaspersky Lab USA, has been appointed Managing Director for North and South America. Harry Cheung, formerly the head of Kaspersky Lab China, has been appointed Managing Director for the Asia-Pacific region. Vitaly Bezrodnykh, the company’s Business Development Director, will simultaneously be head of business in Japan.
The business plan for the development of the global offices, which stipulates the continued territorial expansion of Kaspersky Lab in all regions and an increased presence in non-domestic markets, was also approved. Changes to the international structure and the creation of five regional headquarters stemmed from the need for more effective management of the growing network of local representative companies, whose numbers look set to increase significantly over the next two years.
The Board of Directors also appointed Eugene Buyakin, who previously held the post of Chief Financial Director, to the newly established position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Kaspersky Lab. Buyakin will undertake day-to-day management of the company and coordinate the activities of the global offices and company headquarters in Moscow.
“Our company aims to continue its dynamic development and rapid growth in all regions of the world. Impressive results have been achieved over the last few years, placing the company firmly among the leaders of the international IT security market. But the company has now reached a level where maintaining that rate of growth requires serious reorganization. The new structure of regional headquarters is a necessary step along that road,” commented Eugene Kaspersky, the CEO of Kaspersky Lab.
